James Robert Moore, Jr.

Baby James seems to be pretty crowded nowadays…. gone are the power kicks … although there’s still times he manages to get one in and hit some painful ligaments. Now he’s just mostly squirming and lurching. He has his favorite position that he always moves back into, which is kind of fun as it leaves his hiney pushing out against the right side of my tummy.

Except for one scare … which was my first baby safety scare out of nine pregnancies (not bad!) the pregnancy has gone by way too fast and been uneventful. Just the usual woes that hit me. Restless legs… the nonstop maddening itchy back…. stuff like that. Fortunately most of these things disappear within a week of delivery. 🙂

The Braxton Hicks have plagued me all of this third trimester… my constant reminder of what I have to look forward to. <shudder> All of the pregnancy discomfort I can handle…. but I’m a chicken when it comes to labor.

Let’s just skip that part of it, ok? 🙂

Little Jr. has turned out to be a very accommodating baby so far! 🙂  On this day last week I was pretty convinced he would be a week early… he was so very very low and it sure felt like things were going on. He was so low that he was suddenly measuring behind and I had seemingly gotten smaller.  It would have been inconvenient timing though as there were things I really needed to do before he came…. namely the monthly grocery trip.

So, now that I’m done with the things that HAVE to be done (fully stocked pantry!) he’s free to come, although timing is still dicey.

Today would be good ….

Tomorrow even better….

Saturday would be bad as Gramma and Grampa are busy….

Sunday (DUE DATE!) would be terrible as that’s Meadows birthday….

Monday is fine…

Tuesday would be really terrible as our **MUST BE HERE**  midwife has treatment that day!! I do NOT want to have this baby without Donna here!

So, now it’s just a matter of waiting… and trying to finish up my insane list of goals to accomplish before baby comes. Realistically there’s only a couple of things that I MAY be able to finish given that I’m slower than molasses atm.

We’re proud to announce James Robert Moore, Jr. !

None of the ultra sound pictures came out very well …. he had some great face moments while we were watching the screen and he was even sucking his thumb!

Unfortunately NONE of those moments were captured …. so this is the best of the worst 🙂

James Robert Moore, Jr.

So, we’re in our third trimester …. 29 weeks and days as of today.

Due Date:  October 6  – which is Meadows birthday! How funny is that!

Activity level: HIGH. This little guy is a bundle of energy.

He’s strong enough to actually lurch my body.

OUCH.

He’s giving Daphne a run for her money… she was another super active baby in utero.

I was extra exhausted and sleepy with her.

As I am with this fella.

And the same kind of discomfort… and the same early and strong Braxton’s.

( my least favorite part of pregnancy )

As usual though, the whole pregnancy is  going by way too fast… at warp speed.

And me with a huge long to-do list before his arrival!

Another ‘as usual’ ~ HA!

Prairie Gretchen Violet and Meadow Thaddeus James

While our two did great , it’s a shame that not all of the children showed up to participate

… and all of the older kids welched on joining in

… and the video was taken with my camera while holding Meadow and keeping track of Prairie

(which means it was shaky and the quality stinks).

Plus it’s loooong, unless you are Gretchen or Duel I suggest that you may not want to click play.

🙂

So, after that big build up…..

without further ado I present Gretchen and Duel!

   Funny Stuff!

We had a Fed Ex delivery a couple of days ago. The delivery man honked and honked until I came out.

As he hesitantly approached our backyard gate, he pointed to the doggy door and stated that he was afraid that a big dog was going to jump out of there.

I take it he must have had some bad experiences out here in the boonies.

This sign may have been what made him worried….

"Gretchen" "Beware of Dog"

Our Front Gate

What he didn’t know is that our ‘dog’ is perfectly harmless.

I call him Festus.

Our Dog

Granted, he’s a lousy watchdog…

but he’s no trouble whatsoever….

and he’s very good with children.

🙂

Hint:

  Either one baby is

very very big

or one is

very very small.

"Big baby"

Can you believe that there is a 17 month age difference between them??

Meadow at 4 months is 18 lbs.

{ The girl is HUGE }

Thaddeus at 21 months is 25 lbs.

OIY!

After consulting growth charts

( I found a growth chart for children with Down Syndrome for Thaddeus)

 it would appear that :

Meadow is at the 75th percentile for height and 98th percentile for weight.

Thaddeus  is at the 35th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight.
